Skills week 4 - Stencilling
Task 1 - Stenciling
- Select a pice of card
- Using the templates provided copy a basic shape on to the card
- Select a craft knife and cut out the shape very carefully. Do not discard the piece you have cut, you may use it later
- Selecting a piece of fabric provided, carefully place the stencil in the centre
- Using the paint provided, brush or sponge it on to the stencil lightly

Skills week 3 - Dyeing
Task 1 - Produce a tie dye sample
- Following the demonstration on how to tie dye, select two methods you wish to use
- Select two pieces of fabric provided, put your initials in the corner of each sample in pen
- Select some thread / wool / string and produce two samples in the styles you have chosen
- Place in the prepared dye

Skills week 2 - Hand stitch sample
Task 1 - Produce a Hand stitch sample
- Select a fabric sample and template from the bank provided
- Placing the template under the paper, trace the outline carefully onto the fabric with a pencil
- Using the Fabric sample, produce a stitch sample in an embroidery technique you have been shown around the outline of the shape you have drawn

Task 2
- Look around the Textiles Room, Write a list of at least 5 hazards that you can see. Identify what can be done to prevent the hazard from occurring in the format of the chart below.
Extension Task
- Produce a Health and Safety poster that shows one of the Health and Safety issues you have investigated today.
